On this once-in-a-lifetime private tour, you’ll travel through the back roads of Greece, visit unspoiled islands and enjoy the culture and food of this beautiful country. Day 1 / Arrival in Athens

 

Day 2 / Athens Sightseeing

Welcome to Athens! On arrival you are warmly greeted at Athens airport and transferred to your hotel.Enjoy your welcome drink during your check in. You can spend your free afternoon strolling around taking in the atmosphere of the city, or just relax in one of many quaint street cafes or local “tavernas”. Tonight you will enjoy a dinner in a local restaurant with breathtaking views tothe Acropolis. Overnight in Athens.

This morning enjoy a city tour of Athens. Your guide will reveal to you the secrets of the Acropolis & the Parthenon, the Temple of Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch and the Kallimarmaro Stadium, built of marble for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. A visit to the new Acropolis Museum is included as well. Experience the ancient wonders and relive the birth place of democracy, twist and turn through the Plaka’s narrow streets and find ancient sites, cafes and shops full of history and character. Explore the area by taking photographs of features of the Athenian life and interacting with the community. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Athens.

Day 3 & 4

Day 3 / Delphi

 

This morning, we depart Athens and drive to Delphi. About 2 and a half hours later we will reach the site of Delphi. Considered by the ancient Greeks as the center of the earth. The fame of the Delphi oracle extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic world. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Phthios. We visit the site and the museum. Dinner and overnight Delphi.

Day 4 / Olympia

 

Depart Delphi for Olympia. On the way, pass through the Rio-Antirio bridge, considered and engineering masterpiece. We will stop at Patrra for a visit to St. Andreas church and then continue to Olympia for a Guided visit. In antiquity it was the sacred ground of ancient Greeks and the site of the original Olympic Games that started in 776 BC. See where the athletes trained in the gymnasium and the stadium where the actual games took place. Dinner & overnight Olympia.

Day 5 & 6

Day 5 / Nafplion

 

Depart Olympia for Argolis region and enjoy a spectacular drive through the mountains of Arcadia . Today you will have the opportunity to discover the exceptional wines of Greece. A wonderful wine tasting experience awaits for you to explore the excellent wines of the region with a visit to a fine winery. Continue to Mycenae – one of the most important cities of ancient Greece, a mighty kingdom of ancient Greece- , see the Beehive Tombs, the Treasury of Atreus, the Lion Gate and the remains of Agamemnon’s Royal Palace. We also visit the amazing museum full of exquisite artifacts found on the site. Arrive in Nafplion late in the evening. Dinner & overnight in Nafplion.

 

Day 6 / Nafplion

You will enjoy an early breakfast this morning and set off for a fabulous day. You will head to the ancient site of Epidaurus, which is listed as a world heritage site by Unesco. With ruins of temples and hospital buildings devoted to the healing gods; it is considered to be the birthplace of Asklepios. For most travelers Epidaurus is known for the magnificent theater that still stands there – and is still used for plays and other performances in the summer months. The theater is considered a marvel of engineering as the acoustics are unrivaled even by today’s standards. Return in Nafplion and explore this unique city. Dinner & overnight in Nafplion.

Day 7 & 8

Day 7/ Spetses

This morning a drive through the Argolis region will bring us to the fishing village of Costa where we take the ferry to Spetses island. Our hotel is located within 5 minutes walk where the ferry docks. Spend the day experiencing the elegant island of Spetses. The island has managed to retain its individual traditional character thanks to its well- preserved elegant mansions. Take time to indulge in the local culture. Stroll the tiny streets where no cars are allowed, visit the galleries and hip stores or take a local boat “kaiki” for an optional excursion to visit one of the beautiful beaches. Dinner & overnight at Spetses.

Day 8 / Return to Hydra

After breakfast we walk to the port and take the hydrofoil to Hydra island.
After an hour we will arrive to the stunning island of Hydra, where vehicles are not allowed and donkeys are used for transporting goods from the port around the town. Enjoy the unique local character of this beautiful island. Dinner & overnight at Spetses.

 

Day 9 & 10

Day 9 / Athens

Enjoy the morning in this beautiful island. Later we will check out and take the hydrofoil to Piraeus port where we will meet our coach to transfer us to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day in Athens. In the evening enjoy a farewell dinner with show in the old town of Athens. Return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 10 / Departure

Time to say farewell to Greece. Transfer to the airport in time for your return flight.

Day 1: Athens

 

Arrival in Athens. Our assistant will be waiting you for the transfer from the airport to the Hotel. Take advantage of your assistant local tips and start a stroll through the center of Athens for a first taste of the city.

Day 2

Day 2: Athens – City tour

 

The Athens city tour will be passing through the main highlights of the city. We start from Hadrian’s Arch and continue visiting the Panathinaiko Stadium (also known as Kalimarmaro), which was originally built in 329 BC, and where the first Olympics of the modern era were held in 1896. We continue to the main square of the city named “Syntagma ” square (Constitution), where the presidential guard is located. With its typical costumes, the so called” Evzonos ” make the change of guard in front of the Greek parliament and the Tomb of the unknown soldier. After we continue the panoramic tour visiting the Neoclassical buildings of Athens such as the College, the library and the Academy, and finally we will visit Acropolis and Parthenon, this magnificent monument built in 447 BC during the golden age of Pericles dedicated to Goddess Athena. We will appreciate the Propylaea, temple of Athens Nike, Erechtheum and all its magnificent constructions. After Acropolis we will visit the Acropolis Museum, a building of a modern architecture, hosting the unique antiquities from the Acropolis.

Day 3 & 4

Day 3: Mykonos

 

Transfer from the Hotel to the port for your ferry to the island of Mykonos. Arrival in Mykonos and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to discover the cosmopolitan town of Mykonos or explore some of the beaches. In the evening enjoy a cocktail at the “little Venice” with fantastic views of the sunset.

Day 4: Mykonos

 

Free day in the island. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this spectacular island, home of the “jet set”. Stroll through the cobblestoned paths of Hora in the day for shopping and at night for the world-famous nightlife, which usually ends at sunrise.

Day 5 & 6

Day 5: Mykonos

 

Free day in the island of Mykonos. Explore the island which has a variety of beaches and beach bars, each with different characteristics. In the afternoon, a walk through the narrow alleys of the center will unveil the charm and uniqueness of the island where you can see the famous windmills formerly used by the inhabitants, typical of the Cycladic architecture. In the evening enjoy a cocktail in one of the numerous bars scattered around the sidewalks of the center “hora” and enjoy the famous night out in the island.

Alternatively visit the island of Delos, one of the most important archaeological sites, that are part of history and Greek mythology. Delos was considered in Greek mythology as a holy sanctuary, which is the birthplace of the gods Apollo and Artemis.

Day 6: Santorini

Transfer from the Hotel to the port for the ferry to island of Santorini. Arrival in Santorini and transfer to your Hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day free for first impression of the island.

Day 7 & 8

Day 7: Santorini 

 

Free day in the island of Santorini. The island of Santorini is famous for its spectacular views of the Caldera, the typical whitewashed houses with stunning views of the Aegean Sea. Around 1600 BC the island was the site of the Minoan eruption, which left a large crater named Caldera and was possibly the cause of the extinction of the Minoan civilization of Crete with a giant tsunami caused by the eruption. Another theory says that this was the origin of the legend of Atlantis.

Day 8: Santorini 

 

Free day in Santorini. Santorini has unique volcanic sand beaches with black or red colors depending on which beach you visit. The afternoon don’t miss the famous sunset seen in the typical village of Oia (pronounced Ia), where the sun seems to sink into the Aegean blue sea.

Day 9 -12

Day 9: Crete

 

Transfer from Hotel to Santorini port for the ferry to the island of Crete – Heraklio. Upon arrival in Heraklio – Crete, transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the afternoon to walk around the ancient city of Heraklio which has a wide variety of restaurants and bars, where you can experience the typical Cretan cuisine which is the basis of Mediterranean cuisine. The evening is free to be able to taste the famous Cretan typical drink called “raki” and the characteristic sound of the Cretan music.

Day 10 & 11: Crete

 

Two free days to know the largest island in Greece, where the Minoan civilization existed and the Palace of Knossos which was the political and economic center of that time. The Venetian castle in Rethymnon is a place that will leave you speechless as well as a walk through the Samaria Gorge, which is a tourist attraction for nature lovers.

Day 12: Return

 

Departure transfer to Heraklio airport and flight to Athens to connect to your onward flight.

Day1 Arrival Athens

Welcome to Athens and the Greek islands! You are met on arrival and taken to your hotel. Depending on your arrival, enjoy a free afternoon exploring the city or a nice meal underneath the Acropolis.

Day2 Sailing to Paros

Transfer to the port of Piraeus, board the boat and enjoy the amazing views across the Aegean, passing many rocky islands as you make your way to the beautiful islands of Paros, with its traditional sugar cube buildings, many great beaches, countless bars and nightclubs! Paros is a well-known party island and at the same time has so much to offer. Day 3 & 4

Day3-4 Paros at leisure

Enjoy two full days to discover the island. Swim in the clear blue water of Kolymbithres, eat fresh fish at the seaside village of Naoussaor perhaps take a short 30min ferry to the nearby island of Antiparos.

Day 5-7

Day 5 Sailing to Naxos

Farewell to Paros island as we sail to Naxos.
Naxos is the largest of the Greek Islands of the Cyclades. It is the nuptial isle of the god Dionysus and has the highest mountain of the group, Mount Zas. The island was for many centuries under the rule of the Venetians and Marko Sanudo.
Explore the Venetian town and the many picturesque villages, see the fertile valleys and taste the local agricultural products, enjoy the sandy beaches and for the restless, why not follow one the many hiking paths the island has to offer.

 

Day 6-7 Naxos at leisure

Free day in this beautiful island: explore the landscapes and Ancient temples or just relax by one of the numerous sandy beaches.

Day 8 -10

Day 8 Return to Athens

Take the ferry back Athens. On arrival at the port, you are met and transferred to your hotel, for your last night in Athens. Take the opportunity to check out the Athenian night life.  There is always a wide variety of things to do and enjoy in Athens.

Day 9 Athens Sightseeing

After breakfast, we will be experiencing the Athens sightseeing tour and will be visiting the Acropolis Museum. The evening will be at leisure.

We will enjoy an early breakfast this morning and set off for a fabulous day. We will take a scenic drive down to the Peloponnese. After a short stop at the Corinth canal, we will head to the ancient site of Epidaurus. With ruins of temples and hospital buildings devoted to the healing gods. For most travelers Epidaurus is known for the magnificent theater that still stands there – and is still used for plays and other performances.

After the visit to Epidaurus it is a short drive to Nafplio for short top. We continue to Mycenae – a mighty kingdom of ancient Greece- , see the Beehive Tombs, the Treasury of Atreus, the Lion Gate and the remains of Agamemnon’s Royal Palace. Enjoy a spectacular drive through the mountains of Arcadia to Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, first held in 776 B.C.

Day 4

Day 4 Olympia to Delphi

The serene sight of Ancient Olympia awaits us today – in antiquity it was the sacred ground of ancient Greeks and the site of the original Olympic Games that started in 776 BC. See where the athletes trained in the gymnasium, and the stadium where the actual games took place. Our guide will bring history alive as we tour this incredible site including temples of the Gods where visitors and athletes alike paid homage. After our visit to the site of Olympia we shall once again head north, crossing the spectacular Rio-Antirio bridge one of the World’s longest cable suspension bridges towards Delphi. Day 5

Day 5 Delphi to Kalambaka

Spend your morning walking along the Sacred Way lined by the treasuries of the ancient city states to the Temple of Apollo dating back to the 4th century B.C. And then climbing even higher on to the ancient stadium, here every four years athletes competed in the Pythian Games also a precursor of the modern Olympic Games.

A picturesque early afternoon drive brings you to Thermopylae, famous for the heroic defense by Leonidas and his three hundred courageous Spartans against the invading Persians.

After seeing the memorial, continue the drive cross the fertile Thessaly region to Kalambaka.

Day 6 & 7

Day 6 Kalambaka to Athens

Discover Meteora, one of the eastern Orthodox churches’ most important monastic complexes. Mystical monasteries perch on enormous sandstone rocks rising vertically to more than three hundred meters, they watch over the town and plain bellow.
A pleasant drive brings you back to Athens in the early evening.

 

Day 7 Depart Athens

As your tour ends, say farewell to the vibrant city of Athens, while being transferred to Athens Airport.
